TRADITIONAL CHINESE
ACUPRESSURE MASSAGE
Accredited by ANTA, Australian Natural Therapists Association
and the ATMS, Australia Traditional Medicine Society
Traditional Chinese medicine remedial massage consists of a
therapeutic and deeply relaxing massage. It incorporates acupressure
and Chi balancing based on the Five Phases, the 12 Meridians and more.
The technique frees up blocked areas and promotes the dynamic flow of
energy through the triggering of the body's natural healing ability.
The qualified therapist is trained to induce energy into the massage
which generally assists in reducing stress, improving the immune system
and triggering the body's natural healing ability. The ultimate aim is to
gradually bring about and stimulate a well-balanced body. In addition to
the more familiar techniques of stroking, kneading, grasping, vibrating,
pressing, rolling, chopping, etc, an acupressure technique is used in
which the fingertips, and especially the thumbs, are used to exert
energetic pressure on the acupoints. This has a specific remedial effect
on the organs to which the acupoints relate. Through the particular
combination of sequences, an improved vitality is achieved due to the
unblocking, increasing or decreasing of the flow of 'energy', thus
correcting any yin-yang imbalances. All this takes place through your
meridian system, which is made up of the body's energy channels that
circulate the 'energy', Or 'Qi', throughout the body. Those conduits are
the supply lines of 'Qi' and along each of those channels are numerous
acupressure points at which the flow can be subtly and effectively
accessed and influenced. The flow of 'energy' through our meridians
determines our health. When the flow is smooth, balanced and
unobstructed we feel healthy. On the other hand, health complaints may
be caused if the energy flow, or 'Qi', becomes too slow or too fast,
sluggish, stagnant or obstructed. You already contain some different forms
of 'Qi'[energies] since birth, now and always will during your life cycle. In
short, the induced 'Qi' transforms the existing undesirable 'Qi' condition
into a more desired condition. Things transform because 'Qi' takes on a
different form. The 'Qi' of illness can be transformed into a healthy 'Qi'
by acupressure massage, or a certain medicine, which resonates
between the two particular states and, with the self-healing capacity of
your body, you could be on the road to recovery! You have to heal your
own body, no practitioner can do it for you, but it is great to get some
help now and than. |
